Module 7: Academic Integrity & Performance

Plagiarism What is plagiarism? The practice of copying down other's notes or research and called it their own Common type Direct Plagiarism- It being noted down word by word without giving credit to the person he took it Self Plagiarism- Occurs when the student submits his own work multiple times or mixed it without the permission of the person he need to submit Mosaic Plagiarism- Occurs when the student borrows some phrases from another author without quotation marks and it's unacceptable if it with intention or not Accidental Plagiarism- It happens when the person is misquoted the quotes he took How to prevent? i)      Planning your paper Consult with instructor- You should ask your instructor about the assignment he gave when you didn't understand Plan your paper- You need to know how to put the information that you get from other sources Take effective notes- You need to organize the sources that you get by taking down notes each time you took

Module 5: Memory Learning & Improving Concentration

Today our group instructor, Miss Ainatul Fathiyah binti Abdul Rahim teaches our group about Module 5. Generally, this module is about: Understanding memory process Memory strategies Understanding concentration Strategies for improving concentration Reading / Study system (SQ3R) She also taught us about learning pyramid. (It is the method of training and retention rates) Learning Piramid There are many types of memory one of the types that she focused on are : Sensory Memory (SM )  - It is the short -term element of memory. It acts like a stimulant  used through five senses that is very accurate but for briefly. Short-term Memory (STM )  - It can recall the information at any time. It can be called the ability to remember and process information. It's only available typically 10 seconds, but can go up to 1 minute Long-term Memory (LTM )  - Even if we think we forget something, it's just the feeling of humanity . It is obviously can hold for the lifetime

This week I learn how to use the library properly and get campus resources easily. Things that I got from Encik Mohd Anwar bin Hassim is: WebOPAC - online public access catalogue Online databases: - research/assignment resources Literacy class - KMM (Kelas Kemahiran Maklumat) Types of collection - ebook, SPP @ ILL, magazines and many more Rules of regulations - book fine, lost book, Sahsiah Rupa Diri When he brought us to the library, he gave us work to do which is search for the book, note the author name, year published, book name and its publisher.

Module 6: Taking Lecturer Notes

Assalamualaikum. Today Encik Mohammad Kamil Ariff had taught us about Module 6. He covers from how to take, to the best way to take the notes. The lecture is easily put into two parts. Part 1: Taking lecture notes Part 2: Effective note taking system Part 1 We should ask our self, why we take lecture notes? We could receive not only the lecturer's notes, but could learn to be an active listener. The lecturer in the university could always give a much more accurate record of information than the Internet because they study and make a research about their studies. We will able to interpret, condense and organize information. When the examination is near, the notes will be the repetition material. The question always being asked by a student, 'how to take the lecture notes'. Encik Kamil teaches us two ways to take lecture notes. Assalamualaikum, today I have discovered from the Madam Ramha Rozaili about the time management & organizational skills for Module 4. The main point of this module is: Optimizing study time Organizing study time Using management skill properly The definition of time management is the ability to use apply them. Time is very important, especially when you for studies. One of the strategies Madam teach is : She strongly stressed about the procrastination. It will be the source of great stress and anxiety for most of the  people . Module 2: Goal Setting

Assalamualaikum wbt. My name is Azim and this program interim will be filled with courses that must be taken for all of UiTM student. One of the courses is UED 102 which is study skills that like it's called, skill in the study. At first I thought it's a useless courses that I must take but then it's really helped me to study. Last week, all of the student (part 1) is being lectured other than supposedly by group because most of the lecturers that being assigned to handle the designated group is busy. During the next week, the courses progress as usual and glad I didn't sleep after Sahur because the class at 8.15 am (stay awake to do other homework because I brought the same style of study from school).
